How to Approve Team Member Posts in Hootsuite

0:15 - 0:18with access to publishing
on the company’s behalf -
0:18 - 0:19adds a degree of risk.

0:19 - 0:22For example, that something
will be inadvertently posted -
0:22 - 0:26that’s poorly composed, off-brand,
or embarrassing to the company. -
0:26 - 0:29To help companies ensure
that all outgoing social posts -
0:29 - 0:31are well crafted and on brand,

0:31 - 0:34Enterprise Admins
within Hootsuite Organizations -
0:34 - 0:37can require approval on team member posts
-
0:37 - 0:39before they get published
to social channels. -
0:39 - 0:42First, the admin will need
to choose which team members -
0:42 - 0:46will have restricted posting permissions,
and on which networks. -
0:47 - 0:50Then the admins need to set
that Team Member’s permissions -
0:50 - 0:52to Limited at the Social Network Level.

0:52 - 0:55For example, if a team member
requires approval -
0:55 - 0:57for the Facebook company page,
the Twitter account, -
0:57 - 1:00and the LinkedIn account
permission settings -
1:00 - 1:04will need to be set to Limited 3 times -
once for each profile. -
1:04 - 1:07Setting Limited Permissions on a network
for a Team Member means -
1:07 - 1:11that any social post that Team member
sends or schedules to that network -
1:11 - 1:14will have to be approved by someone
with publishing rights -
1:14 - 1:17before that message will publish.

1:17 - 1:19Once permissions are set,
anyone with publishing rights -
1:19 - 1:23has the authority to approve,
edit, and delete messages. -
1:23 - 1:25This includes admins,
but also Team Members -
1:25 - 1:29whose permission levels
are set to Default or Editor. -
1:29 - 1:31When a message is awaiting approval,
-
1:31 - 1:33everyone with publishing rights
will receive an email, -
1:33 - 1:36provided they have subscribed
to notifications -
1:36 - 1:38under the Preferences tab.

1:38 - 1:42To approve a message,
select Publisher from the launch menu -
1:42 - 1:44and click Require Approval.

1:44 - 1:48Hover your mouse over the message,
and then click Approve to send as is. -
1:48 - 1:50If the message isn’t exactly
how you want it, -
1:50 - 1:52you can edit it or reject it.

1:52 - 1:56Alternatively, you can click delete
to get rid of the message entirely. -
1:56 - 1:59If a message is scheduled
and isn’t approved in time, -
1:59 - 2:02it will move
into the Expired Approvals queue. -
2:02 - 2:04Expired Approvals
are considered Rejected, -
2:04 - 2:07and as such are taken away
from the Admin -
2:07 - 2:09and given back to the user
who composed them. -
2:09 - 2:12This user will need
to reschedule their message -
2:12 - 2:15if they so desire, which begins
the approvals process anew. -
2:15 - 2:18Eventually, you may feel confident
that a team member -
2:18 - 2:20no longer needs to have
all their messages approved. -
2:20 - 2:23In this case, you can set
their social network permissions -
2:23 - 2:26to something other than Limited,
which means they can publish -
2:26 - 2:29directly to the social networks
to which they have access. -
