(male narrator) Larger organizations
often have intensive,
multi-faceted social media strategies
that involve numerous employees creating
posts for branded social accounts.
However, each additional employee
with access to publishing
on the company’s behalf
adds a degree of risk.
For example, that something
will be inadvertently posted
that’s poorly composed, off-brand,
or embarrassing to the company.
To help companies ensure
that all outgoing social posts
are well crafted and on brand,
Enterprise Admins
within Hootsuite Organizations
can require approval on team member posts
before they get published
to social channels.
First, the admin will need
to choose which team members
will have restricted posting permissions,
and on which networks.
Then the admins need to set
that Team Member’s permissions
to Limited at the Social Network Level.
For example, if a team member
requires approval
for the Facebook company page,
the Twitter account,
and the LinkedIn account
permission settings
will need to be set to Limited 3 times -
once for each profile.
Setting Limited Permissions on a network
for a Team Member means
that any social post that Team member
sends or schedules to that network
will have to be approved by someone
with publishing rights
before that message will publish.
Once permissions are set,
anyone with publishing rights
has the authority to approve,
edit, and delete messages.
This includes admins,
but also Team Members
whose permission levels
are set to Default or Editor.
When a message is awaiting approval,
everyone with publishing rights
will receive an email,
provided they have subscribed
to notifications
under the Preferences tab.
To approve a message,
select Publisher from the launch menu
and click Require Approval.
Hover your mouse over the message,
and then click Approve to send as is.
If the message isn’t exactly
how you want it,
you can edit it or reject it.
Alternatively, you can click delete
to get rid of the message entirely.
If a message is scheduled
and isn’t approved in time,
it will move
into the Expired Approvals queue.
Expired Approvals
are considered Rejected,
and as such are taken away
from the Admin
and given back to the user
who composed them.
This user will need
to reschedule their message
if they so desire, which begins
the approvals process anew.
Eventually, you may feel confident
that a team member
no longer needs to have
all their messages approved.
In this case, you can set
their social network permissions
to something other than Limited,
which means they can publish
directly to the social networks
to which they have access.
