Click Your Fortune #2: Who do you look up to? - Alessandro Centrone

  • 0:01 - 0:05
Who do you look up to?
  • 0:05 - 0:08
I definitely look up to people
  • 0:08 - 0:12
who are being very good mentors in my career,
  • 0:12 - 0:13
    in different companies,
  • 0:13 - 0:15
    in previous experiences.
  • 0:15 - 0:18
So, today, like I did in the past,
  • 0:18 - 0:24
always people that were very truthful to their principles,
  • 0:24 - 0:26
people who were very willing to teach,
  • 0:26 - 0:28
    to give ideas,
  • 0:28 - 0:30
    that were, really,
  • 0:30 - 0:32
I think people who really understood
  • 0:32 - 0:33
    that being a good manager
  • 0:33 - 0:37
is not about being able to develop good work,
  • 0:37 - 0:39
but it's about developing good resources.
  • 0:39 - 0:42
So, I think one of the biggest achievements for a manager
  • 0:42 - 0:45
is not so much reaching your goals
  • 0:45 - 0:47
in terms of objectives and budgets,
  • 0:47 - 0:50
but really the ability to develop a good team.
  • 0:50 - 0:52
To develop resources is something that is invaluable.
  • 0:52 - 0:56
Nowadays, talents are something difficult to find
  • 0:56 - 0:57
    and difficult to retain.
  • 0:57 - 0:58
And so, if you have a manager
  • 0:58 - 1:01
that is highly successful in this role,
  • 1:01 - 1:02
I think you have a person
  • 1:02 - 1:04
who is really valuable to an organization.
  • 1:05 - 1:07

Description:

Why are comments off? We're definitely looking for feedback on this series demo! However, the interactive nature of the demo makes it difficult to review comments across all of the short, annotated videos. To consolidate the conversation, we ask that you give us feedback on the three introduction videos. Thanks!
