Click Your Fortune #2: Top interview question - John Werner
-
0:01 - 0:05What's one interview question you ask every prospective employee?
-
0:05 - 0:07So, I often ask questions
-
0:07 - 0:12for people to describe an experience they've had before.
-
0:12 - 0:13But when I'm interviewing,
-
0:13 - 0:15I'm also recruiting.
-
0:15 - 0:18So, if you're interviewing for a job,
-
0:18 - 0:19realize that the person interviewing you
-
0:19 - 0:23is also at the same time trying to
-
0:23 - 0:28show how great their job is.
-
0:28 - 0:31And so there are cues where you can acknowledge that
-
0:31 - 0:32or show that you're listening,
-
0:32 - 0:34show that you appreciate that.
-
0:34 - 0:36So, in addition to trying to just answer questions,
-
0:36 - 0:39I think picking up on that dynamic
-
0:39 - 0:41can give someone a competitive advantage in an interview.
