I am in "the movement" I think since November or December 2009

I would say just after Zeitgeist Addendum came out

at the beginning I was watching everything and trying to see what was all that about

because to be honest I thought it was an idea so magnificent that it made me doubt

so I looked for the error in it, and then I understood that really

it was something we were all trying to do together and searching for the best posible solution

for our planet earth.

I started collaborating with the movement here in Spain to....

An the beginning...I was atempting to give...sorry, I am talking about another thing, I realise now

I was talking about the next question I think

Ok, I will restart.

I'm in the movement because I belive that it is the most accurated aproach for the human kind

and for everything in the planet earth.

I belive the future of our planet doesn't just depend on ourselves

but it depends on us what we will do with our specie, the humans,

and in that sense we have little options at the point we are now.

One is to keep going as we are and for sure we will screw it up

and the other is starting to be more self-critical, trying to find the way we can work better,

and in this sense, The Zeitgeist Movement proposes the use of the scientific method

to solve the social issues and I belive that it is the best way, because traditionally

the philosophy have been looking for the more adequate way of living for the human beings

the best way to be happy

but really since the scientific method started to be used

nothing have been so productive and constructive than the contribution that the science and the tecnology made

to the welfare of everyone, and what it might give us in the future in terms of sustainability

and when it comes to evolve as an species to a new level

to a more civilized culture, or maybe in wich WE start to be civilized.

Next, history of the movement. Present, future.

The Movement here in Spain started just after the first Z Day

That was in March 2009 I think

...yes, 2009

The people started to come together in different cities, mainly here in Valencia

I have a funny anecdot of that day, that March the 15th 2009, because in the university I was working at

I tryed to make a screening of Zeitgeist Addendum

And sadly no one came, maybe because it was hard to acces the place

as you needed to have a university ID

And what I realized afterwards was that in the same city more people organized other ones

like one in the beach. In wich Victor was, who at the end became the national coordinator

I don't know if you got to interview him but it would be interesting

Also there was an screening of the documentary in a place called Radiocity

where we keep on going as the owners agree the ideas of the movement

so that was how the Valencias chapter was born, that step by step got conected with the one in Barcelona,

the Mallorcas chapter, the one from Madrid came out a bit later

and honestly it has been very spontaneous and it grew in a way

let's say not continuously but with phases, where there were lots of people

others where it looked like it was coming to an end but suddenly it regrew with a new story

and new people started to join, and I think right now we are creating what it's supossed to be

wich is to create a new tendency, a new train of thought, and in that direction I think we are heading the right way.

The situation of Spain right now.

The situation right now in Spain as in most countries in the world is dedent

the monetary system is collapsing, it's breaking apart in front or us

We truly are a generation able to see how a system that has beeing runing for centuries

trying to hold on, abusing of the planet Earth in an unsustainable way

and finally, It looks like due to his own weight is falling and there is no much more to do about it

really if we see other countries in the world, we can see that the system for them fell long ago

maybe it never worked, and they have been victims of our way of living

and the way the economic system was organized in the world.

So, in that sense I think the proposal We make with the RBE is basic and everyone should know it

because it is really the best option we got to leave behind an obsolete monetary system

that will only give us misfortunes and finally being able to advance

and start creating a new reality.

So how do you see this new reality coming to live?

The transition you mean?

Well, the transition is always a very controversial subject

I guess each one tends to make more focus in one thing or another,

me, personally I belive it won't be a winning path

I'm optimistic, I think the change will come

That the RBE or something similar will finaly take place as a logical thing

but it wont be one sigle path, We will get there in many different ways

It will be all sort of strategies which at the end will converge in the advances we are waiting for.

I belive the common point is the intelligent way of aplying the tecnologies

right now we see the tecnologies as another element of consumption

but the tecnology really is what it can make us advance as a society

we can see it happening with the internet now, and we will see it from there growing

and we will keep on constructing through that path and I think this kind of "social tecnologies"

are the ones that propel the change in many ways, not just one.

we got to take many aproches, and even if TZM centers in one sigle path, maybe there will be people

that even without knowing the movement are pushing to the same direction, and this is important to keep in mind,

trying always to cooperate as much as possible.

A message to the world...

The humanity is an ill organism, this is ovbious, and ourselves as cells can become a part of the desease

or try to heal this organ, the human kind all over the planet, so it's your decision.
