Right now the Hotaruna, which was modeled in the
shape of a spaceship, is heading toward us in Sambashi.

We will begin with Harlock.

Today you made your appearance
from the ocean. How was it?
-
It felt good.

So, the 3D film we're here for is complete.
What did you think when you saw it?
-
It's on a truly large scale.
-
We've never seen a world like this and so
-
I think everyone will be able to enjoy it.

You've already worked with Oguri in the past
but, looking back, how was this experience?
-
Yes.
-
This is the first time I had the chance
to do voice acting.
-
I've really wanted to try this
-
for about three years now and therefore
-
I feel it is a real honor for me to have
participated in such a wonderful project.
-
And on top of that there's the fact that
-
Shun Oguri, who I have always
admired, was there to work with me
-
in the recordings for this role as a voice actor.
-
I always depend on him and so just
having him next to me
-
was very reassuring.
-
You played a character with a lot of fans.
-Yes.
-
Was there anything that you tried
to keep specially in mind?
-
II'm the one in the Harlock
generation out of this group.
-
And I was a fan too.
-
I'm in the same age group as
Yattaran's fans, and Harlock's so
-
I just tried not to be hated by them.
That's all I kept in mind.

After seeing how it turned out, what
do you think of the other voices in the cast?
-
You mean me?
-
Everyone was great, especially Ayano.
-

It's said that everyone in production
was astonished by Tori...

How did you create this role?
-
Sorry for doing that all of a sudden. Well...
-
It's my first time playing the voice of Tori and so
-
I just watched lots of videos of
pheasants, pelicans and such.
-
I already had experience imitating hens so I started
there and tried to arrange it more Harlock-like.
-
That's how I did it.
-
It's been announced that the film will
play specially at the Venice Film Festival.
-
What are your feelings right now?
-
I know that the original work
has been very famous in Italy.
-
So I'm extremely excited to see
what the reaction will be like.
-
I hope that they can enjoy it.
-
With such a large amount of courage...
-
he continues to fight on and on.

He's really cool no matter
how often you see him.

I guess that's the really cool thing
about Harlock. Definitely.
