Unlocking The Truth - Malcolm Brickhouse & Jarad Dawkins
-
0:12 - 0:15I've known him since I was four,
-
0:15 - 0:17we met at a birthday party.
-
0:17 - 0:21I asked him *"do you wanna start a band?"*
-
0:21 - 0:24Ever since then, we write about things in our life,
-
0:24 - 0:26about school,
-
0:26 - 0:28also, we write love songs
-
0:28 - 0:32about relationships we deal with.
-
0:32 - 0:34I know it's a little grown up,
-
0:34 - 0:38but we just still do it cause that's what we like to do.
-
0:38 - 0:40We have our fake tours at home...
-
0:40 - 0:43Madison Square Garden, Fairbanks Plaza...
-
0:43 - 0:48We imagine that we're performing at those places,
-
0:48 - 0:51but actually we're just performing in our basement.
-
0:51 - 0:55[* loud heavy metal 4/4 time guitar and drums...* ]
-
1:23 - 1:28Usually a kid band,
they would sound, like, they're kids, -
1:28 - 1:30like they just started playing instruments,
-
1:30 - 1:32but us, when they actually see us,
-
1:32 - 1:36they think that we're 30 years old.
-
1:36 - 1:41I don't like doing the same thing that everybody else is doing, I wanna do my own thing.
-
1:42 - 1:48Since I wear nail polish,
which is not normal for most boys to wear, -
1:48 - 1:51not really get bullied... but people bother me about it.
-
1:51 - 1:54At times it offends me, at times it doesn't,
-
1:54 - 1:58so I just write songs about it.
-
1:59 - 2:03Most people listen to hip-hop music,
-
2:03 - 2:06there's not a lot of people
that really listen to metal any more. -
2:06 - 2:11We wouldn't see kids like us
actually picking our own genre. -
2:11 - 2:15It's something that we will be known for.
-
2:16 - 2:19I know a lot of people doubt me,
-
2:19 - 2:22but then I really don't listen to those people.
-
2:22 - 2:25Cause I know I'm gonna be famous anyway.
-
2:25 - 2:27Now I'm writing a book.
-
2:27 - 2:31The book is about people
who are being bullied in school, -
2:31 - 2:33and they joined a band,
-
2:33 - 2:36and they have became rich and famous,
-
2:36 - 2:39and they toured all over the world.
-
2:39 - 2:44And people that judged them,
they have became homeless. -
2:44 - 2:48And... it's like based on a true story.
-
2:48 - 2:52[* loud heavy metal guitar and drums...* ]
-
3:17 - 3:22We do wanna inspire other people.
-
3:22 - 3:25Don't let nobody push you down.
-
3:25 - 3:28Be free, do what you wanna do.
-
3:28 - 3:30Just, be yourself.
-
3:30 - 3:32And do what you do best.
