The Sagan Series (Pt 1) - NASA Granice su svugdje
-
0:15 - 0:19Bili smo lovci i sakupljači hrane.
-
0:19 - 0:22Svugdje su bile granice.
-
0:22 - 0:29Ograničavala nas je samo zemlja, ocean i nebo.
-
0:29 - 0:35Otvoreni put još uvijek zaziva.
-
0:35 - 0:44Naš maleni planet je ludnica
stotina, tisuća, milijuna svjetova. -
0:45 - 0:49Mi, koji nismo u stanju urediti
niti život na svome planetu... -
0:49 - 0:51Rastrgani sukobima i mržnjom...
-
0:51 - 0:54Trebamo li se mi otisnuti u Svemir?
-
0:55 - 1:00Do vremena kad ćemo biti spremni nastaniti
se čak i u najbližem nam planetarnom sustavu, -
1:00 - 1:02promijeniti ćemo se.
-
1:03 - 1:06Jednostavan prolaz tolikih
generacija promijeniti će nas. -
1:06 - 1:08Nužda će nas promijeniti.
-
1:08 - 1:13Prilagodljiva smo vrsta.
-
1:13 - 1:19Nećemo mi doći do sustava
Alpha Centauri i ostalih bliskih zvijezda. -
1:19 - 1:21Biti će to vrsta vrlo slična nama.
-
1:21 - 1:24No s više naših snaga,
-
1:24 - 1:26a manje naših slabosti.
-
1:27 - 1:33Samouvjereniji, dalekovidniji, sposobniji i razboritiji.
-
1:35 - 1:39Zbog svih naših neuspjeha,
unatoč ograničenjima i pogreškama, -
1:39 - 1:44mi ljudi sposobni smo biti veliki.
-
1:45 - 1:49Koja čuda o kojima možemo
samo sanjati u naše vrijeme -
1:49 - 1:52će biti ostvarena u drugoj generaciji
-
1:52 - 1:54Ili sljedećoj nakon nje?
-
1:54 - 2:00Koliko daleko će naša nomadska vrsta
odlutati do kraja sljedećeg stoljeća? -
2:00 - 2:04Ili sljedećeg tisućljeća?
-
2:05 - 2:11Naši daleki potomci, sigurno raspršeni
na mnogim svjetovima u Sunčevu sustavu... -
2:11 - 2:13...i dalje
-
2:13 - 2:15biti će ujedinjeni
-
2:15 - 2:21svojim zajedničkim nasljeđem,
obzirom za svoj rodni planet -
2:21 - 2:27i saznanjem da kako god izgledao
drugi život, ljudi u cijelom Svemiru -
2:28 - 2:29dolaze sa Zemlje.
-
2:30 - 2:37Gledati će u nebo i pokušavati
pronaći plavu točku na svojem nebu. -
2:37 - 2:43Diviti će se tome koliko je ranjiv
bio spremnik naših potencijala. -
2:43 - 2:46Koliko smo imali opasno djetinjstvo.
-
2:46 - 2:50Koliko skromne početke...
-
2:51 - 2:54Koliko rijeka smo morali preći...
-
2:55 - 2:59prije no što smo pronašli svoj put.

AND OF COURSE to Carl Sagan. I made an entire page of credits and forgot to cite The Pale Blue Dot. Total brain fart on my part. I miss the man dearly.

Used with permission wherever possible.I got frustrated with NASA and made this video. NASA is the most fascinating, adventurous, epic institution ever devised by human beings, and their media sucks. Seriously. None of their brilliant scientists appear to know how to connect with the social media crowd, which is now more important than ever. In fact, NASA is an institution whose funding directly depends on how the public views them.
In NASA's defense, they have embraced social media. I guess my point is that they don't fully understand how to best use it. In all of their brilliance, NASA seems to have forgotten to share their hopes and dreams in a way the public can relate to, leaving one of humanity's grandest projects with terrible PR and massive funding cuts.
Edit: Another video I put together:
