The Twitter Translation Center allows any Twitter user to sign up, choose a language and begin translating immediately. Translators can now help localize twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for iPhone and iPad, Twitter for Android, Twitter Help and the Twitter Business Center. Twitter Translation Center

Welcome to the Twitter Translation Center.

In order to help make Twitter available to everyone in the world,

we created an open service that allows users to

translate the site, by using tools that

our engineers have built specifically

for localization.

You have helped define what's important

about the product. Now you can define

you own local experience too.

Here are a few steps

which can help you get started.

Login into your Twitter account using

your usual e-mail and password combination.

Review the Translation Agreement before

checking the box and clicking "I Agree".

We have summed it up for you, but feel free to

read the full Agreement here.

Choose your language in the drop-down menu.

If your language is not on the list, sit tight,

we're doing our best to make it available soon.

You're all set up!

From Twitter.com to Twitter for iPhone,

you can choose to translate whatever part of Twitter

you like best or use the most.

Beneath the list of projects

is a chart of the top translators.

It's our way of acknowledging those

who have contributed the most time and effort

to help us to localize Twitter.

Once you have found a project that interests you the most

click through it. This is your project page.

Here you will find a list documenting the sections

of the project you have chosen to translate.

For example, if you chose to translate Twitter.com

you will have the option to translate the Signup Flow,

the Confirmation E-mails, Widgets and much more.

Browse around and choose what you're drawn to.

If you are interested only in the lastest additions,

of the project you're viewing, you can try clicking the "Date" link

at the top of the page.

This will sort the phrases by date added.

This way, you can also check back on older translations.

If you are impartial about what you like to translate,

click the "All" button at the top.

This will produce a list of all phrases

in need of translation, regardless of their section.

This is recommended to those

who are familiar with Twitter and know

where every sentence appears on the site.

If you have a precise term in mind you'd like to translate,

feel free to use the search bar.

Searching will scan the phrases in a given project

and provide you with the list of phrases containing your search query.

You can search terms in English or in your language.

Simply check the appropriate box under the search bar.

To start submitting translations,

choose a project from the home page.

Then choose a specific part of the project you want to start translating.

There may already be a short list of suggested translations for each phrase.

These have been submitted by other translators

and at least a few others have found them useful.

Simply click the box beside the suggested translation

that you believe is the best.

If you change your mind you can always click

the box again to cancel your choice.

If you think you have a better translation

than the previously suggested ones,

feel free to submit your own in the field underneath the voting options.

Everyone can suggest their own translations.

If you click "More information",

you will see details about the translation string,

including similar phrases and comments.

Once you have typed translations in the page,

you will need to save your work.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page

and hit the "Save Translations" button.

You can always go back to your previously translated phrases by searching,

or by clicking "Your Translations" on the top of your page.

Under your profile, you can see a running tab

of all of your Translation Center activity,

including the number of votes and translations.

Now you're ready to get started translating.
