Showcase | Minecraft 1.12 Snapshots

hey guys surfboy20 here today and we are

back today for a new video which is a showcase

video on all the new minecraft snap shots right now we are

17W15A and wow they have added a lot of new features

which I am really excited to share with you guys in case you where not aware of them.

now in front of me are the new blocks

and there is terracotta, concrete and concrete powder.

now terracotta was very controversial when it first was first released

people said it didn't match the game, they ugly they didn't see themsevles using them

and I have to agree I well I am warming up to them

I still don't see my self using to many of them

I will use the arrows for directing people

and I will use the black uh terracotta because

i think it looks cool um but besides that

i dont see myself using any of them

now above that that is the concrete and I am really excited

for the concrete one we finally get a flat solid color block

and so that is going to be very useful for building and I can not wait to build with it

and above that that is concrete powder

now concrete powder is how you make concrete you can craft it

using sand and gravel and if you touch it to water it will turn into concrete

so that is how you make concrete

and above that I have all the wool blocks

because the wool blocks got an updated color pallet

and so now they are much more vibrant and it's really really good looking

and also the banners above got an update and did the beacons

and so that is why I have the beacons and banners and wool there

and also when a sheep is wearing the wool it will also be affected

so I am really excited for that and if you come over here

this showcases the recipe on how to get concrete powder

and if i step on this pressure plate it will give me a light blue

concrete powder

and over here I built a mechanism to show you how concrete powder is made

into concrete so if it touches the water

it will be pushed over using some red stones so that is how you make concrete powder

or concrete turning concrete powder into concrete

and then over here

in case you didn't quite see what was going on there

if concrete powder touches water at all

it will instantly turn into concrete so that is how that works

and I think that is really cool so you can't auto harvest this

quite yet you can still semi auto harvest it but

you have to do some breaking of blocks

and then over here this is how you get terracotta

so you smelt down harden blue clay

and you use a fuel source

and then over here when it is done smelting it will turn into

light blue glazed terracotta and so you can place this down

over here and that is the terracotta block for light blue

which is right there

and then over here the new update features this

and so netherrack will burn instantly when you light it on fire

by flint and steel and so will magma blocks

magma blocks will not indefinitely burn just like netherrack

now you might be able to hear them is one of my personal favorite

editions they now added parrots and I think this is really cool

that is what their spawn egg looks like

so they added it into the miscellaneous tab right down here

there is the spawn parrot egg and you can spawn them

and they naturally spawn in the jungles in the signle player worlds

that don't have uh creative and that is where you can find them.

instead of getting the spawn egg

and the have five different variants if you come down here

you can see that they have the red one

which is my personal favorite

they have the blue one

silver

cyan

and green

so those are all the different variants of parrot

and if you come up here

you can see that they will dance

if there is a jute box playing a disc next to it

now they did used to dance and change color

but that was removed in this latest snap shot

sadly that was a really cool feature though

so they won't change color anymore but they
will still dance.

so lets go ahead and stop that.

come over here you can tame the parrots

using a cookie and if you give them some cookies

they they will be tameand you can sit them down and also

be able to go on your sholder which is really cool

over here they have added colored beds

so you can get a white bed by just doing the standard

crafting recipe and it will give a white one and

inorder to get the colored beds you can just pair the dye

with the white bed and it will give you the different colored beds

so we can chose any of the 16 colors

and dye the beds those colors.

so it is not just red anymore which I think is really really cool

it will add a nice touch to building

and then over here they have made some changes with the stairs

so before

you couldn't place snow on stairs but now you can

and snow there it will just melt there because of hte light

and over here you can now connect glass panes

cobblestone walls,

and fences to the back of stairs

along with tourches so I dont see myself

using this too often but this is going to be useful for trying to light up places

if you want to put a light on the back of a stair

over here one of the biggest updates

in this snapshot is this

this is the new crafting so

as you can see there is a little book in the

left hand corner of the crating grid and in here

you can now craft all these different items

so say I want to craft a crafting table

using these oak planks I can click and

it will put it right there for me I can keep clicking (clicking noise)

and it will keep adding it or I can hold shift and click

and it will use all my wood to make all the crafting tables

it can so that is really really useful for new players who

don't quite know all the crafting recipies or what

there are so it will show you all the different items

that you can craft so I think that is really

really cool and useful for all the new players

and also us experienced players who just need help crafting

so this is a lot quicker

now the last feature that I am going to showcase

in this showcase video is the paintings

they did make a slight change to how paintings are chosen

to be placed down they will now pick the biggest

avalible area to be placed

so as you can see it is placing it down in the biggest area

so now it is a lot easier to get a painting you like

and I think that would be useful if

I used painting but I usually don't use that many paintings

but ya just a slight little change that makes it easier

to get the painting you want

so you can easily set up a block area

so it will only make the right painting

so say I want that painting I can set

up blocks right here and i will only get that painting

so I think that is really really cool even though

it is not that big of a change so

for you today so that is all the different

features there is quite a bit of them actually

there is a lot of them that I didn't cover

because there is not really anything that I can

really show but I will go over it real quick

the replaced the achevment system with

advancements and so what this is is this is

basically achievements but just a little bit better so you can hover

over it and it will say the heart and story of the game

mine stone with your new pickaxe, construct

a better pick axe, smelt an iron ignot

fill a bucket with lava, so it is just a little bit more advanced

then the achevment system so there is also the adventure

tab where you can do all these advancements as well

uh also there is a slight change to the inventory

where uh they added saved tool bar so say

I wanted to save this tool bar you just save toolbar

with control and the then number and so it saved my toolbar

in so you can see my tool bar is the exact same up here and

and if I wanted to load it

I can empty my inventory and go right back

to it so you can have quick access to all these

different items uhh this be useful for when

redstoning because I know that you have to keep grabbing items

and so it will be a lot easier to just cycle through all

the diffferent things

and so ya I think I see myself using that quite a bit

uh but they did use the miscellaneous tab from up here

to down here now this will take some getting use to

for me because I got so used to the old creative menu

so it will take some getting use to but I think that is pretty cool

uh I think that is all for this video
