-
This year we've been using two picture communication apps:
-
ProLoQuo2Go and Choiceboard creator.
-
First I will show you ProLoQuo2Go.
-
This is the first app that we purchased
-
and it cost a hundred and eighty nine dollars.
-
There's over ten thousand pictures
-
and several folders that two pre-programmed in.
-
Our classroom is using quick sets.
-
[device] Quick sets.
-
OK, i'm gonna show you.
-
meal times are often our most
-
uh... motivating time of the day.
-
Breakfast
-
Each day I'm able to program what we eat.
-
The students are able to
-
make a sentence
-
to request what they want to eat.
-
i want
-
banana
-
please
-
I want banana please.
-
then the next day when I need to edit it
-
i can push the (?)
-
and go into the edit mode
-
uh...
-
and click on the picture.
-
I'm going to choose a picture that I've already taken.
-
I'll scroll through my pictures.
-
Melon
-
re-type my text
-
and
-
I want melon, please.
-
that's basically how we're using ProLoQuo2Go.
-
We also can use it during in speech time
-
time for speech
-
when they request toys they wanna play with
-
I want snake, please.
-
For some of our students that we need the pictures to be larger.
-
This is how you make the pictures larger.
-
You're gonna have to go into the settings
-
and then go to ProLoQuo2go settings
-
click on appearance,
-
item size,
-
choose very large,
-
then it instantly changes the size of the pictures.
-
I want monkey, please.
-
That's how we're using ProLoQuo2go.
-
Choiceboard Creator is a free app that we found online.
-
You have two modes:
-
either create activity or start an activity.
-
I'll show you that activities we already have programmed in here
-
uh... the student is asked to point to one of their classmates.
-
Says Point to Rowan.
-
if they pick the wrong picture, it will
-
do blue flashing and go back
-
but if they pick the right picture, the default is a clap
-
and it goes into the next question.
-
Point to Jojo
-
and you pick the right picture [clapping sound]
-
and it goes to the next slide.
-
Return to the main menu, we also use it at snack time.
-
Do you want fruit snacks or vegetable strips?
-
[clapping sound]
-
You can make it so that both pictures produce clapping.
-
Both pictures are acceptable choices.
-
When they pick what they want, the picture enlarges and that's what they can get.
-
Those are just two examples of the ChoiceBoards that we are using.
-
The ProLoQuo2go is a little easier and has
-
more pictures, more options programmed in.
-
The ChoiceBoard Creator
-
is also a good free option.
-
It allows you to program pictures and
-
you can also program your own audio in there as well
-
Thank you for joining us and we'll have more updates on the different apps that we're using.
