    Dites-moi dŐo il vient
Tell me where he comes from
Enfin je saurais o je vais
Then I would know where IŐm going
Maman dit que lorsquŐon cherche bien
Mommy says when you look hard enough
    On finit toujours par trouver
YouŐll always end up finding it
Elle dit quŐil nŐest jamais trs loin
She says heŐs never very far away
    QuŐil part trs souvent travailler
He often leaves to go work
Maman dit Ç travailler cŐest bien Č
    Mommy says Ňworking is goodÓ
Bien mieux quŐtre mal accompagn, pas vrai ?
Better to be there than in bad company, right?
    O est ton papa ?
    Where is your dad?
    Dis-moi o est ton papa
Tell me where is your dad?
    Sans mme devoir lui parler
Without even having to talk to him
Il sait ce qui ne va pas
    He knowsĘwhatŐs wrong
    Ah sacr papa
    Oh my dear father
    Dis-moi o es-tu cach ?
Tell me where are you hiding?
Ca doit faire au moins mille fois que jŐai compt mes doigts
I mustŐve counted my fingers at least a thousand times
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes o tŐes o papa, o tŐes ?
Where are you, where are you, where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes o tŐes o papa, o tŐes ?
Where are you, where are you, where are you dad, where are you?
    [[Synth breakdown]]
Quoi ? QuŐon y croie ou pas
What? Whether your believe or not
Y aura bien un jour o on y croira plus
There will be a day when we no longer believe
Un jour ou lŐautre on sera tous papa
On day or another weŐll all be fathers
Et dŐun jour lŐautre on aura disparu
And one day or another weŐll all disappear
    Serons-nous dtestables ?
    Will we be hated?
    Serons-nous admirables ?
    Will we be loved?
    Des gniteurs ou des gnies
    Natural fathers or geniuses
Dites-nous qui donne naissance aux irresponsables
Tell us who gives birth to irresponsible [fathers]
    Hein ? Dites-nous qui, tiens
    Hey? Tell us who huh?
Tout le monde sait comment on fait des bbs
Everybody knows how to make babies
Mais personne sait comment on fait des papas
But nobody knows how to make dads
Monsieur Ç jŐsais tout Č en aurait hrit, cŐest a ?
Mister Ňknow-it-allÓ wouldŐve inherited it, is that it?
Faut lŐsucer de son pouce, ou quoi
Does it come from sucking our thumbs, or what
Dites-nous o cŐest cach, a doit, faire au moins mille fois quŐon a bouff nos doigts
Tell us where itŐs hidden, we mustŐve bit our nailsĘa thousand times
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?
    O tŐes papa o tŐes ?
Where are you dad, where are you?

    Dance

    Stromae

    Dad, where are you?

He trying to find his dad and find out who he really is

    In a small town.

The tone is informal because it is in the perspective of the kid meaning the kid stll has not developed a good vocabulary.

    Où t’es papa où t’es ?

Each pair has a particular dance differentiating them from the others. The children, dressed identically to their parents, learn the moves that represent their family. The diversity of dances demonstrates the parenting styles, each with its own rhythm, no one style being more correct than the others. Stromae is a frustratingly frigid mannequin, powerfully representing the sense of abandonment children experience. As other pairs of children and parents dance to Stromae’s music, Stromae remains still, with a pasty, plastic smile plastered on his polished face.

I choose the song because it is fairly well. Its background is fairly good as well. It speaks out to the children who have felt with abandonment from there father like Stomae. I like how he makes the incorrect writing of the title because it is meant from the kids perspective. I like the mannequin idea because it is very unique but i feel it could had mad a better more dramatic video to the song but it still has a great idea behind it. I feel like it raises a question on Child Abandonment in France. Is it crazier in France than it is here in the United States? Great song!.
