-
Welcome, friends.
-
Going to offer a short guided
-
meditation as we
-
continue to explore
-
with the curiosity and the
-
openness
-
that we introduced on our first
-
session.
-
So to begin, we're going to do a
-
quick grounding.
-
You're getting to be
-
great fans of this.
-
So just notice very
-
easily your
-
body in space and time.
-
Aware of the earth beneath your
-
feet.
-
The sky overhead.
-
That's good. And each
-
breath you take just relaxing,
-
even more.
-
Settling.
-
Staying curious.
-
There's no right or wrong.
-
Each breath, just allowing your body
-
to settle and drop right
-
into where you are.
-
I find it helpful to
-
name the dirt or soil
-
or sand beneath my feet,
-
to honor their ancestors.
-
And aware of the the vertical energy
-
running earth to sky.
-
Just imagining that
-
their heads touching a cloud a
-
little bit. But your feet are on the
-
earth.
-
I'm gonna bring in the horizontal
-
energy.
-
This connects us to the earth and
-
each other.
-
People. Animals.
-
Plants. Minerals.
-
And then tipping just a little from
-
the back, just finding
-
the backside of your body and the
-
front side.
-
And a grounding superpower is
-
imagining you've got that big T-Rex
-
tail.
-
Relaxing the pelvis and
-
just being right here.
-
So from this place
-
in time,
-
I'd like you to imagine going to
-
your safe place in nature that
-
we explored in our first session.
-
Can be useful to choose the same
-
place, but you don't have to.
-
That could call the same route that
-
you took.
-
Walking magic carpet,
-
flying in the back of an eagle and
-
boom landing
-
into
-
the safe place in nature.
-
Thay often mentioned the island of
-
self.
-
That really works for me.
-
And
-
some of us are less comfortable with
-
water, so just see
-
where you are aware of the
-
sounds.
-
The smells.
-
The colors.
-
And the
-
textures.
-
Good. And just anchoring in that
-
sense of safety and beauty.
-
Good.
-
And you can say to yourself, I am
-
safe.
-
If you're not sure, just move your
-
head very slowly to the left
-
and right. And just with
-
soft eyes scan.
-
I am safe.
-
So in this moment, I'd like you to
-
allow a
-
question from your heart to come up.
-
Or a feeling or concern.
-
I know my heart in this day is
-
wishing
-
for more peace.
-
Allow that to arise.
-
And then we're going to welcome
-
or invite to your safe place
-
in nature
-
a blood or spiritual ancestor
-
that would like to support you
-
with your question or
-
concern.
-
Welcoming
-
this blood or spiritual ancestor
-
who comes forward today, maybe more
-
than one, but
-
we're opening the door to one.
-
And knowledge
-
whether you can see or just know
-
or just feel that
-
there is an inner sangha
-
member present.
-
I know mine in my practice in this
-
moment is Thich Nhat Hanh
-
who has been my deep teacher of
-
peace.
-
It might be your grandma or
-
your coach.
-
Or Jesus.
-
Or Mohammed.
-
Just welcome.
-
And greeting them with a bow or a
-
hug or a smile.
-
And then
-
asking any question you might have
-
in this moment with
-
whatever is connected to your
-
concern or topic.
-
Mine was peace.
-
Staying on the earth.
-
Staying with this inner sangha
-
member that came forward today.
-
In my practice some are
-
chatty.
-
Some just use one word,
-
or point at something, or use a
-
symbol.
-
Just be open
-
to how the communication happens.
-
And if you don't understand let that
-
being, person know.
-
And they can try another way to
-
communicate.
-
Good. Anything else you'd
-
like to ask this
-
inner sangha member?
-
Good.
-
Thanking that person
-
or persons who have come forward.
-
Express your gratitude and
-
giving them permission to leave.
-
And also noticing
-
where you can feel or sense
-
them in your body.
-
And it might be very simple, just a
-
little bit of warmth.
-
Or like a little
-
twitch or
-
jiggle.
-
In this moment, I'm feeling a lot of
-
warmth at my heart.
-
Just notice what you notice.
-
And then it's you and your
-
safe place in nature,
-
your island of self, and
-
taking the same route you
-
took back to where
-
you are practicing from in this
-
moment.
-
And I invite you if you choose to,
-
or if you're able to put a hand on
-
your heart and a hand on your belly.
-
Very good. And just to close the
-
practice however you choose to.
-
With my practice, I
-
like to finish with more gratitude
-
and sometimes
-
was a prayer for myself,
-
for my beloved.
-
Just settling in
-
we'll be enjoying the bell.
-
But I encourage you to stay very
-
curious, open, and
-
kind with yourself.
-
We all have different ways of
-
knowing. Perhaps it
-
will be a dream that will help you
-
connect.
-
Perhaps it'll be something
-
in nature.
-
So again, thanks this day for
-
outer community of support
-
and internal community
-
of support. Thank you for your
-
beautiful practice.
