-
My name is Stefan Kengen, aka Steven Keen -
-
- and I am the Danish coordinator for the Zeitgeist Movement.
-
I've been on board for about 3 years.
-
I joined the movement through a friend -
-
- who sent me the link to the first 2 Zeitgeist movies -
-
- of which I had never heard before.
-
'Zeitgeist: Addendum' clarified some things for me.
-
I had the puzzle pieces in front of me -
-
- but I couldn't put them together. Addendum did that for me.
-
I looked up the website and became an active member.
-
It went quite fast for me actually.
-
The movement began in Denmark about 3 years ago -
-
- and has developed slowly. More and more people -
-
- are sympathizing. We have some structutal issues -
-
- because we are doing things differently -
-
- hierarchically and so on.
-
We need people to be autonomous and do things on their own accord -
-
- which is challenging. But we have had quite a few successes as well -
-
- with various events.
-
The theatrical launch of 'Zeitgeist: Moving Forward' went very well.
-
We've had 2 consecutive Z-Day events, which had -
-
- high attendance. So we're getting there.
-
The future of the movement -
-
- will play out naturally I think.
-
Because our failiure to solve our problems will become more apparent -
-
- not just in Denmark but globally.
-
People will gravitate towards other possibilities -
-
- because "the old way" no longer works.
-
I forsee a growing interest in the tenets of the movement -
-
- and what indiviuals themeselves can do to move things in a better direction.
-
The situation i Denmark is one of cautious waiting.
-
Most people who address the public in some way -
-
- hold back a lot these days -
-
- because they realize that our ways aren't working anymore.
-
The political and financial situation here -
-
- is stagnating a little.
-
We will most likely see many creative suggestions -
-
- which won't work, because we are at a point -
-
- where neither political nor monetary measures work.
-
There is stagnation and cautious waiting in this regard -
-
- but as the election approaches -
-
- the debate will heat up -
-
- but no results.
-
The transition...
-
If there is one, it's already happening.
-
And has been for a long time.
-
I don't believe in drastic paradigm shifts.
-
It's a developing function that can be faster or slower -
-
- according to the predominant socio-economic factors.
-
The question is what we are transitioning to.
-
We try to work towards an NL/RBE -
-
- which is a model -
-
- in which we share the resources, to put it very short.
-
What will happen next is speculative.
-
We work towards a more constructive -
-
- and productive direction, rooted in the technological -
-
- and scientific knowledge and understandings we have.
-
The understanding that we no longer have the need for money.
-
But the 'transition' itself is beyond me.
-
But we will keep working in that direction.
-
My friends. My fellow humans.
-
It's time to do things differently. It's time be more efficient.
-
Humanity har reached a point -
-
- where we need to realize that our old ways no longer work -
-
- and that new measures are required.
-
Luckily we know all we need to know in order to achieve it.
-
It is only a matter of sharing the information -
-
- join hands, and work together for a global future -
-
- that has room for us all.
