Christian Science Board of Director invitation to Annual Meeting

This is a brief video invitation to Annual Meeting

Annual Meeting 2013, Update, The Christian Science Board of Directors

(Lyle Young) Hi everybody, my colleagues and I on the Board of Directors

have greatly enjoyed being in contact with you every few months this past year.

With Annual Meeting coming up in just a few weeks,

this is a final opportunity for us to extend an invitation to attend Annual Meeting.

(Margaret Rogers) Of course by attend we mean live on the Internet

so that all of you can have a front row seat.

The way this decision was made was, for several years

the Board was thoughtfully considering the provision

in the Church Manual for Annual Meeting

which says, in part, that "No other than its officers are required to be present."

We love the simplicity of that statement,

and felt it was time to try to have our global family

all together in one place listening to the reports,

as the provision says is the purpose of Annual Meeting.

So we will all be together listening to reports from around the world

on the theme of "Small seeds ... vital growth."

(Michael Pabst) We're going to have Annual Meeting right here in the Boardroom, and we hope you'll join us.

But we also have views from from The Mother Church, from the Extension and from the Original.

We'll also have a look at the Sunday School,

the new Sunday School, that you would not want to miss.

And wonderful views of the Plaza,

which right now has some very special pieces of artwork that you'll enjoy.

And you'll also hear the magnificent Mother Church organ.

And yes, we're going to sing hymns together.

(Robin Hoagland) Thanks to technology,

you'll still be able to visit virtually many ways that day.

First, we're going to hear greetings from members around the world

as they gather in their own communities to attend the meeting.

We'll also be able to share before, during, and after via Twitter

using the hash tag #TMCAM13.

And finally, you'll be able to gather

after the meeting in a virtual lobby and talk with one another before you sign off.

(Nathan Talbot) All of that, and there is more too.

We'll want to introduce you to our new First and Second Readers of The Mother Church.

We'll want you to meet our new President of The Mother Church.

You know we hope all of you can be with us for this meeting.

If you can't, if you absolutely can't make it,

if you're an astronaut and you're going to be on the moon

and you cannot be with us, we got you covered.

Within 24 hours, we'll have this online.

You can come in and watch this at your convenience.

But we hope that all of you who can make it will be with us.

Annual Meeting is but once a year.

And thanks to the Internet, we'll all be able to participate.

So we're so much looking forward to see you in cyberspace in just a couple weeks.
