EPISODE 35
GOAL
-
Good morning, good morning!
-
Whether you are superexcited
or can’t be bothered at all
-
or maybe something in-between
or in yet another mood I can’t name,
-
there is nothing stopping you
from yelling in the morning:
-
Dears, I welcome you warmly on
another day of the week, Wednesday.
-
We are exactly mid-week and that means
-
we have already done
half of the fantastic things
-
and can still do another half.
-
Isn’t that just great?
For me, it totally is.
-
Dears, I’m very happy to be meeting you
again in the morning of another day.
-
As always, for a start a short
film-booster-poker-hammer to the head,
-
meaning something to wake you up.
-
This film will be about an obstacle
-
because it happens that we face some
we really don’t know what to do about:
-
She is simply a world champion!
-
I have absolutely no idea what to do,
how to walk, which way to take
-
to just get hanged like that
on the furniture.
-
I'm at a complete loss, I’m very skillful
at failing and making a fool of myself
-
but something like that
I haven’t done yet.
-
Why this film?
-
Obviously, because today’s sentence will
be exactly about something like that.
-
But first, of course, let me quote it:
-
OBSTACLES ARE THOSE
FRIGHTFUL THINGS YOU SEE
-
WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR EYES
OFF YOUR GOAL
-
So this sentence, really a masterful one,
was uttered by one Henry Ford,
-
the founding father of motorization
in the USA.
-
This is a true masterpiece and it's
theological through and through.
-
I don’t think it needs a lot of explaining
but of course I will do some.
-
Dears, the obstacles, like I said to you
on Monday, I think,
-
the problems that we face in life,
will always be there. Always.
-
You will always be facing some.
-
They become frightening when,
among other things,
-
this is not the only reason, of course,
-
when you focus on them
and are not looking ahead,
-
to what is behind them,
what they are blocking.
-
Dears, I think that we all, each of us,
-
have a tendency to focus on this hurdle
that is right in front of us.
-
The bigger, the harder, the more
embarrassing or destructive it is,
-
the easier it gets to actually focus
on how huge, frightening and scary it is
-
and how we will never move past it.
-
Dears, it's not about deluding ourselves
that there is no obstacle
-
but we have to learn to look beyond.
-
We have to learn what is behind it.
-
If you will not live with a view of
what it is you want to accomplish,
-
where you are going, what reward
awaits you at the end,
-
then you can really get scared by
the things happening along the way.
-
Only when you see the magnificence
of what is waiting at the end
-
then even scary things will be
just another stair to climb.
-
Of course, if the goal you are trying
to reach is not fantastic or wonderful,
-
then it's really hard to find the strength
to overcome even the smallest obstacles
-
because there is nothing to strive for.
-
Dears, like I said, this is a very
theological quote
-
because the entire theology
is built on it,
-
meaning God is the final goal we're trying
to reach and all things on the way
-
are only a certain stage,
the road to this final goal.
-
aS God is the most magnificent goal,
our motivation is pretty good
-
since we stand to gain something
truly amazing.
-
Dears, what I would like to
invite you to today?
-
Try looking not at the obstacles,
difficulties or barriers in front of you
-
but think what is beyond them,
what are you trying to reach,
-
what is right behind the barricade.
-
Only when you are looking at
what is there,
-
will you be able to jump right at
the hurdle with passion,
-
because you will be drawn to your goal
and then you'll overcome the barrier.
-
So today, don't look at the problems
or obstacles but look beyond,
-
to the goal you are trying to reach.
-
When you do that, you will be able to
overcome the biggest impediments.
-
OBSTACLES ARE THOSE
FRIGHTFUL THINGS YOU SEE
-
WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR EYES
OFF YOUR GOAL.
-
Dears, I'm recording almost at night,
it's almost getting dark,
-
I had such a day that I didn't have time
to record anything,
-
so I'm telling you it's morning
but it's actually dark,
-
a bit hypocritical, isn't it?
-
But maybe not or at least I hope so.
-
Anyway, it was nice meeting you,
I wish you all the best,
-
till next time somewhere,
meaning tomorrow at 6 a.m.
-
Bye!
