Panayiota Poirazi is a Director of Research and Head of the Computational Biology Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) at the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH). She received numerous awards for her scientific contributions in brain modelling, including the EMBO Young Investigator award in 2005, two Marie Curie fellowships in 2002 and 2008, the extremely competitive ERC Starting grant in 2012 and the Manolis Christofidis award for the best Cypriot Young Investigator in 2013. She is α member of AcademiaNet: a European Portal for outstanding female scientists and is representing ERC as a Young Scientist (one of world's 40 best young scientists) at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum in September 2014.

Η Παναγιώτα Ποϊράζη είναι Διευθύντρια Ερευνών και Επικεφαλής του
Εργαστηρίου Υπολογιστικής Βιολογίας του Ινστιτούτου Μοριακής Βιολογίας και Βιοτεχνολογίας (ΙΜΒΒ) του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας και Έρευνας (ΙΤΕ). Έχει λάβει πολλά βραβεία για την επιστημονική της συνεισφορά στην μοντελοποίηση του εγκεφάλου, όπως αυτό των Νέων Ερευνητών του Ευρωπαϊκού Οργανισμού Μοριακής Βιολογίας (ΕΜΒΟ) το 2005, δύο υποτροφίες Marie Curie το 2002 και το 2008, την εξαιρετικά σημαντική επιχορήγηση Νέων Ερευνητών από το Ευρωπαϊκό Συμβούλιο Ερευνών (ERC) το 2012 και το βραβείο Μανώλης Χριστοφίδης για τον καλύτερο Κύπριο Νέο Επιστήμονα το 2013. Είναι μέλος του AcademiaNet, ενός Ευρωπαϊκού δικτύου για εξαιρετικές γυναίκες επιστήμονες και εκπροσωπεί το ERC ως Νέος Επιστήμονας (μία από τους 40 καλύτερους νέους επιστήμονες στον κόσμο) στο Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum το
