called "I say porridge," -
0:27 - 0:32which is a very delicious recipe
of an Argentine dessert. -
0:33 - 0:37I was thinking, I think that recipes

and preserve and share them, -

a dessert made from corn, -
0:52 - 0:56which is prepared in a similar fashion
to the Mexican atole -

song to sing here today. -
1:01 - 1:02Corn is a plant

connected to the birth and development -
1:07 - 1:10of the ancient cultures on our continent.

1:11 - 1:14You might know that the gods
made man out of corn, -
1:14 - 1:17or that it was him,
the son of god, they say, -
1:17 - 1:21the one who sank himself into the earth
and made corn sprout from his body. -
1:21 - 1:24It's a sacred and very mysterious plant;

1:24 - 1:28something that sticks out to me
is that it doesn't grow in the wild, -
1:28 - 1:31rather it depends on the hands of men

1:31 - 1:35who thresh, sow, and harvest it.

1:35 - 1:40So, it's a plant that connects men
and women to the earth, -
1:40 - 1:43and also connects them to
the sky, because these people, -
1:43 - 1:48watching their crops and observing
the movement of the stars, -

1:50 - 1:54and left us a legacy of immense knowledge
