شهادة ناشطة عن اعتقالها وتعذيبها على يد الجيش المصري
-
0:00 - 0:03It was Saturday, when they cleared the sit-in,
-
0:03 - 0:07Around 1.30 or 2 pm, I can't remember the exact time,
-
0:07 - 0:10I was sitting in the garden at the Mogam'a on the Qasr el Ainy side,
-
0:10 - 0:13They started to attack, so we began running,
-
0:13 - 0:17We ran up to Qasr el Nil bridge, and then they closed in on us,
-
0:17 - 0:21A group of us ran onto Qasr el Nil bridge, I was with the group that ran onto 6th October bridge,
-
0:21 - 0:27I figured that was safer, at least we'd be able to find a taxi or anything, and manage to escape,
-
0:27 - 0:30They got onto the bridge from an exit different than the one we used,
-
0:30 - 0:34They chased us, and the cars were encircling us as well,
-
0:34 - 0:38I was trailing behind, I can hardly run anyway because of asthma,
-
0:38 - 0:45So I wasn't able to keep up, and one of the soldiers tripped me, and I fell on my face, while the rest ran,
-
0:45 - 0:49There were three of them. One twisted my arm behind my back,
-
0:49 - 0:54Another was pulling my hair, and the third one hitting me on my knee and shin,
-
0:54 - 0:58There was of course swearing, against my father and mother,
-
0:58 - 1:01And really provocative insults.
-
1:01 - 1:05Then one of them pulled me up by the hair,
-
1:05 - 1:12And handed me over to his commanding officer, saying 'We took her.'
-
1:12 - 1:15Then there were about twenty soldiers on the bridge,
-
1:15 - 1:19Walking past these twenty soldiers, not a single one did not harass me,
-
1:19 - 1:22Whether verbally or physically.
-
1:22 - 1:28Then the soldier asked me questions like, 'Are you a girl or not?' and that sort of thing,
-
1:28 - 1:34We reached his officer and he told the soldier, "No one touch her, set her down here, I said no one should touch her,"
-
1:34 - 1:37"No one touch her," was practically a cue for the beating,
-
1:37 - 1:40The beating increased, and then we were off the bridge,
-
1:40 - 1:43He forced me run all the way to Abdel Moneim Riyad square, knowing that I couldn't run,
-
1:43 - 1:46We reached General Magdy,
-
1:46 - 1:49I knew him because I'd spoken to whom only a day before, because my friends were detained,
-
1:49 - 1:52Sanaa Seif, Nour Ayman, Farida al Huessi, and Maggie Osama,
-
1:52 - 1:55And I had been talking to him to try and get them released.
-
1:55 - 1:58Because he'd seen me a day before, he asked them 'Why did you bring her?'
-
1:58 - 2:01So the soldier answered him saying, "Boss, she's a daughter of so-and-so" - swearing at my mother, basically.
-
2:01 - 2:05He told me, stand there and don't run. I told him I wouldn't. He asked if I had ID, I said no.
-
2:05 - 2:08I refused to hand him my ID because I didn't know what he'd do with it, to be honest.
-
2:08 - 2:12Had I been charged with something I would've shown my ID, but I didn't know where I was or what for, or anything.
-
2:12 - 2:17I was standing there in Abdel Moneim Riyad, with no less than ten soldiers, probably more.
-
2:17 - 2:20After that officer left me,
-
2:20 - 2:25The harrassment ensued, something terrible - all I could hope was that they wouldn't get into my pants.
-
2:25 - 2:28But they did, anyway.
-
2:28 - 2:32They beat me on my legs with the batons, and on my hands,
-
2:32 - 2:35And they kept pulling my hair, it was being torn out in their hands,
-
2:35 - 2:39Until General Magdy came and told me, "If I unleash them on you they will destroy you, do you understand?"
-
2:39 - 2:43I told him, "Yes, I understand," and he said "I'll get you a taxi, and I never want to see you again,"
-
2:43 - 2:47And he grabbed me by the hair and knocked my head against the cab, but not too hard,
-
2:47 - 2:50And I got out of the taxi - the driver had been watching what was happening,
-
2:50 - 2:53And then continued swearing at me,
-
2:53 - 2:59Insults like, "You're a tramp, if your parents cared they wouldn't let you spend the night in the street," and so on.
-
2:59 - 3:03I got out some distance away from my home - I didn't know if the driver worked for them or not.
-
3:03 - 3:07That's why I got out before I reached home, I walked a bit till I got there.
-
3:07 - 3:12I saw a doctor, he just said I was bruised all over my legs and on my knees,
-
3:12 - 3:18And in my hands, and it hurts to kneel.
-
3:18 - 3:23Were you scared off by what happened to you? Do you feel like that will stop you from being in the street again?
-
3:23 - 3:26No, I mean, the same day I was in the square,
-
3:26 - 3:29I rested a bit the day after because I just couldn't,
-
3:29 - 3:32But I'm back out here today again!
-
3:32 - 3:36Okay, and do you think they have been deliberately targeting girls?
-
3:36 - 3:41Yes, that was definitely the case. There was even one guy who was running with me, I didn't even know him,
-
3:41 - 3:44They hit him on his hands and told him "Leave her!",
-
3:44 - 3:48I saw it happen more than once myself, with other friends, that they'd leave the boys and run after the girls.
-
3:48 - 3:51Do you have something to say to the military council?
-
3:51 - 3:58Yes, they're clearly trying to exploit a sensitive social point, because we're an Eastern society, so they're using girls as weapons,
-
3:58 - 4:01What a wretched, base, move. Honestly.
-
4:01 - 4:06I mean using violence against a woman... I really don't know what to even call that.
-
4:06 - 4:09Such an extremely filthy act, seriously.
-
4:09 - 4:12And so here's our response, I think we're around 10,000 or so girls, we're down here in response to that.
-
4:12 -Enough. That's more than enough, seriously, enough.
