While I was in Yemen, I went to

this packed political convention,

but it was mostly packed with men.

So I pulled aside one of the 
very few women there,

activist Hana to talk.

Hana and the rest of the women clustered
in a sitting area by themselves.

They certainly didn't take the floor,

and they observed in silence

as the khat chewing men around 
them broke out in cheers.
