This is a rather anemic and thin way, in this 0:02:48.054,0:02:52.059 era of social media, for us to actually express our values. 0:02:52.059,0:02:54.671 Today we have technology that lets us express ourselves 0:02:54.671,0:02:57.675 a great deal, perhaps a little too much. 0:02:57.675,0:02:59.949 Then in the 19th century, we layer on 0:02:59.949,0:03:02.356 the concept of bureaucracy and the administrative state 0:03:02.356,0:03:05.499 to help us govern complex and large societies. 0:03:05.499,0:03:08.731 But we've centralized these bureaucracies. 0:03:08.731,0:03:11.176 We've entrenched them.
