Previously on YTF
This spring the 7 members of YTF
will embark on their biggest project yet
A six city live tour
- So basically this is our rehearse
This is how we get down
We all go to one room
and we sit here and talk about
what we're going to do
- We have one day now to rehearse
and I really hope it's enough for the boys
- ... for you guys
- I just hope it's not too little too late
- Well I think you just named
like half of them
laughter
'Cause we're not selling tickets,
I guess it's really bad
on our reputation of course.
music
audience screams and yells "YTF"
Nice Guys plays
Nice guys finish last that's
why I'll treat you like trash it's
not really what I wanna do
but
you only date bad guys so
I'll give you my best try to
treat you the way
you want me--
- to
laughs
and then he comes through it
It's gonna be so funny
- Do we all go in?
- Yeah yeah
- The door has to be like
aggressive door
- Yeah yeah
Can you guys, can you guys switch
and then we'll be the bottom door
and we'll be the top door?
OK
So let's try that again
Can you hit it from the top?
- ??? in my own studios, and
we're working on the very finale piece.
Basically the last moment
when all the fans get to see us
so we're trying to make it come together
a little bit tighter
- And you go through
sings
I never open a door
or pull out a chair
You can tell me how your day was
but I don't have a chair.
- I wrote this song called Nice Guys
and then Kevin and Ryan rap the verses.
I never open the door
or pull out a chair
You can tell me how your day was
but I don't really care
It became Kevin's most viewed video,
and it's up there with-- for Ryan.
So it was kind of, like,
one of our biggest projects
for everyone.
So that's out finale obviously.
So we're working on that
and we're trying to make sure
that that looks crisp and clean.
- It's pretty stressful because
we all feel like there's so much to learn.
- This is kind of free--
Like pull out a chair,
You can tell me how your day was
but I don't really care
boom boom
I don't think we should do the boom booms
Just uh, just
We'll just be able to-- we'll vibe with each other
just pull out a chair
you can tell me how your day was
but I don't really care.
Like, just kind of like
whatever that vibe is.
Yeah.
Could we do that (?) from the top?
- Our first show's in Vancouver,
it's in, 20 hours away.
What we've done up to today
is not too much.
Usually we're supposed to start like
making our own stuff, rehearsing.
We're supposed to be doing
what we're doing today
not the day before we leave to the place,
we're supposed to be doing this like
weeks, possibly months ago but
we're just throwing everything together
last minute.
Basically what we've done up to now
is talk a lot
- So we got a show!
inaudible talking
Now we're talking in the studio.
So working out some stuff,
trying to make it work.
- Where's Chester?
- 'Cause I have a jacket too
if you have a jacket
- Seriously
Where is this guy?
- Where's Chester, really where is he?
- Right head over right shoulder
- Chester being late was a little rough
just because we're all in Nice Guys
together.
I'll give you my best try to
treat you the way you want me to
- I have a fake mic now.
I'll never open the door
or pull out a chair
Ah okay, pull
you can tell me how your day was
but I don't really care
and if you ever get cold
you'll just have to hack it
'cause I'd be cold too
if I gave you my jacket
like whoa
you ain't sitting up front
front is for the homies
you can sit in the trunk
- Rehearsal started off with
five individuals,
Chester was late,
Kev wasn't there,
and we just started
from the very top.
And then people would go
in and out of paying attention.
Trying to get everybody's, like,
ADD to just come to one
thing
And just listen and,
and just follow type of thing.
That, and people not showing up
was kinda hard.
- You're not gonna have--
Just keep it like,
in your left hand.
cuz I-- there's no choreography with that.
And then when we do the out,
you just set up--
- You can go this way
- He's right
- So here
- back
- and switch it back
- and then here
- yeah yeah
- Oh why don't I just do here
and then here
- you can, you can do whatever you want
it's really up to you
- These guys never listen
Like really??
- You're going up
- Wait let's go from here
- okay
sings
- but you only--
- ohp
- no that's okay
- For the rehearsal part
I'm probably the most
experienced as far as
putting and directing
a choreographed show
so they just trust me to do that
for that part.
- I would say D-trix is very caring
about this group.
- When it comes to putting on a great show
- D-trix is very serious
like he choreographs Nice Guys
and he's very meticulous
like he'll make us do it over and over
- That's what's so cool about this group
is like
everyone's talented
in their own special way
so it's like, "Oh we need to
choreograph something."
Well we've, like, a genius.
He's a genius in what he does.
- Yap
- So basically your,
your whole choreography is--
here, you talk, duh duh duh duh duh
sings
cuz I'd be cold too
if I gave you my jacket like whoa
you ain't sitting up front
ho-- and you just kinda vibe with us
cool?
We're gonna be pictures (?)
as much as we can
So from the top, one more time
- I'm not a choreographer,
but I like to do it.
Not everybody dances,
not everybody understands when to go where
but we all know the song
so if I'm just able to just
sing it to them and
"you're here on this note"
or "you're here on this word"
then they can memorize that.
I want the show to be tight
and I definitely want all the guys
to be prepared.
I've always loved dancing
As far back as I can remember.
One of my biggest memories of dancing
probably the first day I started
which is February 28th, 1999
and there was this girl at this
Valentine's Day dance in eighth grade
and I wanted to impress her,
and there was this like little circle
in my school
and people were doing the worm
and some really horrible-looking things
and I just went out there,
and I did my first like three windmills
and all of a sudden I was like
"cool. it's cool"
and then that just led into
fulfilling what I love to do
which is just dance
instead of dancing for other people
I just love dancing for myself.
