And welcome back everybody to another episode of Rise and Shine. We've got a very weird gas mask on right now, but I think we'll be fine, I think we'll survive. But yes, welcome back to another episode of Rise and Shine. I'm very excited to see what's next. So... Fun with poison gas, is it? That's how you conquer a world fast nowadays... Me, I prefer old-school shooting and maiming, but who am I to judge? Yeah, the commander's big on mass-murder optimization, it seems. Scrum methods, all that jazz. By the way, why are we having a casual, relaxed conversation right next to a bunch of explosive barrels? Beats me, man... It's also weird we can space travel but need primitive, highly flammable fossil fuels. You know, I love that they kind of break the fourth wall there. Like, I'm slowly realizing that when they're talking about, like, guides and stuff– What is that? What is that? Why are you shooting at me? Get away! That's gonna be very hard to hit. But when they're talking about guides and stuff, they're talking about us. (laughs) And I love that, it's really funny. 'Cause this game is extremely set into the world of games. Like, it is literally called Gamearth, like... (laughs) Yeah, it's a really cool game, though. I think you guys should check it out. I haven't really mentioned it, but it's on Steam, link in the description. I do recommend it, definitely. All right, so let's see what's next, because this is uncharted territory for me. I definitely do not know what to do from this point on. 'Kay, we've gotta kill that grunt. What is that green thing? 'Kay, we're now standing in acid apparently. (sighs) Come on, what is up? I am dead already. (laughs) This is gonna be a fantastic episode. The green guy's gotta go because he spews acid everywhere and it's really annoying because it hurts and it's a painful endeavor and we gotta just hop around– Man, they're coming from everywhere! These things just don't stop, do they? 'Kay, we'll just have to play it very safe here. Another one of those acid dudes. They're very dangerous, too, I'm not even gonna lie. (laughs) They're painful, very, very painful. Okay, let's just run through there. Let's just try and get out of here because this is a scary place. I keep forgetting that you can dash in this game, I don't know why. But that is a mechanic that's probably gonna be pretty useful in the future, I've just gotta remember to use it. Oh great, not a new boss. We're already battling a mini-boss or something. You know what? Let's switch to our electronic bullets, our shock bullets, I guess, if you will, and let's try... Ah, see, that's why, 'cause it puts 'em into a shocking frenzy, (laughs) like he can't move or something. But I feel like it might not be doing damage. So am I able to do something here, or is that... Yeah, that's not anything. Okay, let's reload, first of all, take that away, and let's see if we can't do any real damage with this. 'Cause I feel like that might be a little bit better. Oh no! Okay, this looks bad. No, okay, that wasn't bad at all. There we go. Look at that! I think first try, right? Yeah, we did good. We're doing a little bit better. Okay, now we're gonna die pretty much instantly. Look! Someone's still alive...! I don't like the looks of this, not one bit. (gutteral growl) (laughs) Okay, this is pretty creepy. There's like some zombies going on now. That was a lot easier than I thought it'd be, though, I'm not gonna lie. Looks like those space grunts engineered a gas that does more than just killing people. I mean, you already earn jerk of the year award for using chemical weapons on civilians, but then transforming them into bloodthirsty zombies? Now that's pure, obscene, filthy, nauseating, evil genius at work. This isn't right. How can people do this to each other? War is the only game with no rules, kid. Man, doing these voices is really getting to my voice box. (laughs) Okay, I'd like the light, actually, that'd probably be a better experience. And then we'll turn that one on, there we go. Uh-oh! Oh, this looks good. Ok, don't go and pee your pants just yet, kid. We casually found a flashlight accessory. Right on time to give us a hand seeing in this dark. The creators crack me up sometimes... There we go, breaking the fourth wall again. Okay, how do I use the flashlight, or is that–oh, there we go. Okay, what is that? (grunts) They actually run at me, too. This is gonna be creepy, I can already tell. Okay, so the unfortunate thing is that I have to keep the gun out, and now I'm being eaten. You can't see it, but I'm being eaten. That's dandy. (laughs) Okay, this is getting extremely creepy because they're getting extremely fast and they're coming from everywhere and it's just not good and you can't see anything on top of that– Oh, that was actually easier than I thought it'd be. (laughs) That was about the second time I've gotten that far, and it really was not that bad. Okay, now we're being closed in, so now it's getting extremely bad. But you know what, if we learn how to do headshots a little bit better, then this'll be a lot easier to solve 'cause they are one hit, and that's always a good thing. I mean, look at that! We're doing pretty good, if I do say so myself. As long as we can keep the gun loaded– okay, this isn't good. No! Ah, there we go. So yeah, the headshots, that's what matters, that is definitely what matters. What is that? Is that Gary the snail? Okay. (laughs) There we go. And they only have lights on their eyes, which is the creepiest thing in the world. 'Kay, what is that? 'Cause it's glowing. I feel like that's probably not gonna be a good thing. Got a cyborg going on there. Okay, now we can see again. Okay, this is some puzzle stuff. All right, how in the world are we gonna do this? This is looking extremely creepy, I will go ahead and say that. (laughs) Not creepy, but difficult. Okay, so, what... First of all, what's the goal here? To press the red button, I'm assuming. So if we... First of all, we've gotta turn that on, I'm assuming. Not puzzles! (laughs) I'm not good at puzzles, guys, I'm not good at puzzles. Okay, what is that do, then? Does that stall them open? Oh, it does, I bet. Okay, so if we... Yeah, where that's gonna open, now that's gonna stay there... Yeah, this isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. So now, we just do that, or just destroy it entirely, so that needs to be re-turned on then, right? Yeah, we'll do that, which will open that, and we'll close it and it'll get locked in place. But that one's like done for, so we're not really gonna have any luck there. But if we shoot that and then get it through there, through there... (gasps) No! Oh, I gotta dodge everything! This is bad. This is kinda fun, though, it reminds me of Space Invaders-type stuff. 'Kay, we're gonna go ahead and go through there... (grunts) Okay. (grunts) (laughs) This is– Okay, I figured I wouldn't be able to do it on the first try. I was gonna, you know, beat it on the... I would've been very surprised if I would have been able to. Ah! But this is a little bit absurd. This is getting crazy. All right, but we're doing it, though. Look at us! We just did that, no problem! That was pretty easy, if you ask me. Very, very fun mechanic. I really, really enjoy that part of the game, I'm not gonna lie. Okay, so let's turn that off now. What in the world is that? It says assault on it, so I'm assuming it's bad. Yep, it's bad, we're pretty much dead. Yep, yep, that's... That's great. The first clue: aim at the gun directly because then we can destroy it and we'll be good to go. So we're just gonna have to keep hopping and hope for the best here. (laughs) I mean, I'm getting a little bit better at dodging stuff though, so I'm not really that worried about it. (grunts) Okay, they get a little faster though at some times, which is not good. There we go! Phew! It almost got me, too. Okay, so now we can jump right over that. There's always something new around the corner, man, always something. (laughs) Okay, what is that? That was a Mario reference right there. Man, so many references. Okay, these guys are evil, of course. And now stuff is falling from the roof. I'm gonna die any day now, well, any second, really. Do I have to jump over these, or is that– I'm dead. (laughs) Just like that. 'Kay, there's some light, I wonder what's going on here. Can we leave now? Oh, we can! Okay, hopefully we're outside now. "Commander..." "Space grunt fleet, Gamearth orbit." "Our troops are reporting that Eightbit City and the whole Retro Continent have just fallen. Only 17 seconds later than you predicted, sir." "Hmph... Tell the general who led the assault he and his men are on one-third rations for a month. Maybe that'll teach them to exectue a plan properly." "Yes, sir." Hey, Kuzco. (laughs) "How's the situation with my wife and son, Rise? Have you found them after your clumsy screw-up at the capital?" "Commander... That's what I'm here about. I just learned that child we were pursuing in the palace gardens is your son. He carries a strange weapon with infinite respawns. We still don't understand how he's neutralizing our troops. Every time we take him down, he respawns, but we didn't know he was your son until very recently." Okay, so this is a weird loophole. Is this the bad guy? And the bad guy's the Rise character's dad. "Sir?" "My son has been given Shine. This changes everything. Ready my battleship. I'll take care of this personally. And you idiots keep the pressure on him. Don't let him get any further. Do whatever it takes. I don't care how many grunts you lose. I want him stopped." "Yessir!" All right, so this is a very, very odd change in story. Apparently, our dad now is gonna be a bad guy. What are the chances of that? (laughs) And is this anything that I can do? (grunts) I gotta jump! Ah, I'm dead. (laughs) I basically just caused my own death there. 'Kay, so is that anything, though? If I hit it, it's just charging up basically, but if i jump over it, then what does it do? Oh, it destroys the wall! Look at that! How clever, it's like a little puzzle. We're gonna have to keep–ah! Doing it. What is that doing? That's most likely the... Yeah, okay, is this the dad attacking me? Or is this just the standard ship? And I can't really do anything about it. And it's not really destroying anything, it's not really helping me, I'll go ahead and say that. Okay, so do I need to keep doing what I'm doing, then? It looks like that's basically what's going on, it's just a harder difficulty now, so that's dandy. (laughs) Okay, so let's just try and dodge all of these, continue charging that up, and then it'll shoot, and hopefully allow us to get through here free. (grunts) There we go. Okay, dodged that, it's gonna hit that, Hopefully break it down even further, I'm assuming, unless I'm supposed to be hitting something else. I don't think I am, though. This seems like what it's wanting me to do. I'm hoping, anyway. Okay, there we go. There we go! Now we can get through. And–ah, I'm dead. 'Kay, we're already almost there, we've just got one more to go. I've just gotta keep dodging these grenades, but they're pretty, like... (laughs) Pretty consistent, I'm not gonna lie. And then it seems like every time we get close, we get to where we're about to die, and one more, and we'll be good to go. And–what is that? Okay, there's a clown? And the clown destroys the ship there. And then it goes away. (laughs) Now unfortunately, that's an Easter egg I don't quite understand, not gonna lie. I wish I did, but there's gonna be plenty that I don't recognize. And we're just gonna blow those up 'cause that's the easier way to do it. But I don't know if we're getting– okay! That was extremely creepy. Hey, but we handled that pretty good, I'm not gonna lie. (laughs) We did a pretty good job just then. Okay, there's a chest down there that I would like to get. We're just gonna have to keep an eye out so that way we can get it. But of course there's gonna be a boss battle right before. And are we dying or is that not something that's going on here? Are you in a... Are you attacking right now, what're you doing? Okay, this isn't good. How are we gonna...? Oh, I get it.
