Chris Anderson: Five years ago,
TED was something
that was enjoyed by a thousand people
once a year.
Today, it's something enjoyed
by about 300,000 people every day.
[From over 60 countries]
This event here today actually seems
equally miraculous to me.
TED itself had really nothing to do
with organizing it.
It's one of -- more than a hundred
that will be held this year
around the world
as part of this TEDx program
of independently organized TED events.
And this is being done for passion.
(Music)
Thinkers, movers, shakers, rock stars,
welcome to TEDx!
You are all futurists, aren't you?
(French) It's an organization
from the United States,
a community,
whose mission is
to promote ideas
that can change the world.
All around the world can share
the same vision in real time.
Jane Poynter: Take a breath now
and, as you breathe, think
about what is in your breath.
(Music)
It's an incredible honor to be involved
in a brand new thing that TED is doing.
I think is life changing.
CA: TED is part of a much bigger revolution
in global education
that's made possible by the web.
