Kinoraw is a research and developement project

in cinema with open source software and hardware

Thanks to the support of Telenoika

we've got in our hands an open source hardware camera: the Elphel.

This camera it's used in such dispare fields

as recording underwater images under the antartic ice

or in space exploration

It can reach images with a bigger quality than HD

and even the possibility to record in stereo-3D

HDR

and timelapses

It's open software and hardware allows to configure

improve and develop besides the specific needs of every user

as the creation of new devices to complement,

extend of make easier it's functionality.

It's potential plus Blender's high performance in editing and postproduction

allows us to develop it as a movie camera.

We want to achieve new professional,

profitable and worthwhile workflows

with an alternative logic to the current one.

For the time being, our way of contributing

is using and testing the camera,

releasing the content, manuals and documentation generated by Kinoraw,

as to expand the workflow to run it with Blender.

In this same path we found Apertus

a community which has been working for years

in the development of an open source cinema.

Since we've found a great support in them,

we can't wait to contribute to

the flowering of the community with the outcomes of our project.

and you are interested in our proyect,
