Exposure Compensation is a great tool to use when you need it. Unfortunately, on some cameras it's possible to inadvertently turn on Exposure Compensation. You might find that you're shooting in an automatic exposure mode such as Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, or Program Mode but still, all of your pictures are too light or too dark. If that happens, chances are you accidentally have Exposure Compensation dialed in. In other words you're asking the camera to intentionally over expose or under expose. Again, some cameras put the button for this in an unfortunate place and it's easy to turn it on without knowing it. So make sure you understand about Exposure Compensation and know how to turn it on and off on your camera. Thanks.
