[Register and select a course]
Welcome to "Let's translate Coursera."
In this video, we will show you how to use
all the features
of our platform's interface
to help you translate Coursera as easily
and as conveniently as possible.
You can log into the system
using your email address
or an existing account
on Facebook or Google+.
You can join the translation
of any course you like.
For instance, why not choose this course
on "Creating images in Hollywood"?
You don't have to translate all parts
of a course one by one.
Just click on any lecture
to open the editor, and start working.
[Editor interface]
The editor interface consists
of three main units:
the video, the translation area,
and the CAT-panel.
You can play the video lecture
with original subtitles in the editor.
You can select a specific phrase
and the system will show you
the corresponding segment for translation.
[CAT-panel and pasting MT results]
The CAT-panel allows you
to use machine translation.
Choose the most appropriate option and
press the Control key plus option number
to instantly paste the result
in the translation area.
[Translation input]
Each original segment
comes with a Play button.
Click it to see the corresponding
portion of the lecture.
You can translate it yourself, or post /
edit a suggested machine translation
to simplify and speed up the process.
[Voting]
A translated segment can be finalized,
so that other users can see it and
vote for it, increasing your rating.
Apart from good translations,
your rating also grows when you vote
for the translations of other users.
That's all you need to know
to use our platform.
[Happy translating!]
