Hey guys, Andre here.
Can we start now?
[OS female voice]: Mm. Good!
Cool. Okay… okay.
Hey guys, I’m here to talk to
you guys about one of my passions
that I have which is traveling
and share with you guys
three of my favourite or most
memorable travelling experiences.
[synth drum beat]
I think my first one is actually
probably the most recent one,
the one that I had in Ecuador.
[ding]
The whole Degrassi cast went
for a Free the Children trip.
♪ [Amadeus – Jojo Worthington]
It was a really amazing experience
and a really awesome trip in general
but there was one part of it that
I don’t think anybody really expected.
The whole cast had to do
this jungle food thing
and our tour guide was like,
'I’ve got this special treat for you.'
Comes in with a little bowl,
opens it up, and surprise, surprise,
they’re live grubs.
[ding]
No way I’m eating that!
And Ehren was super into eating it,
and even Ana and Chelsea
were into eating it and just…
aah. I was like, 'I don’t know
if I can do that!'
But I didn’t want to go home
and be the one guy who didn’t eat one.
So I was like, 'Okay, I'll eat one.'
We cheersed it and we ate it,
big fat grub [“fat grub” repeated]
Honestly, it was not…
it was not good at all.
If you put vomit into a pasta shell
and sealed it off and gave it
a little bug head, that’s exactly
what it tasted like; it was awful.
Hey, I ate a grub in Ecuador.
What did you do?
Another great trip
that I took – less gross –
I went on a European tour
with my mom. I started off in France.
♪ [stereotypical French accordion music]
My mom lived in France and Paris,
it was a really cool experience
because I could travel around Paris
and see all the sights and kinda have
this in-depth knowledge of what
my mom went through
and what she lived in
for her university time.
And then the place we
went to afterwards was Italy –
♪ [stereotypical Italian mandolin music]
At the time I was super into gladiators,
and Roman civilisation,
and how Rome had one of the
largest empires back then.
And I also went to the Vatican when
I was in Italy which was really cool.
Apparently the Vatican is its own
country and me as thirteen years old
thought it’d be really cool if I ran
around the Vatican so I could tell people
I ran around a whole country.
I think I just looked really dumb
compared to everyone else there.
And then after Italy I went to England.
♪ [stereotypical English trumpet music]
It was raining all the time,
but I got to see a lot of stuff,
go on the giant spinning thing, I
don’t even remember what it’s called…
[OS female voice]: Oh, I –
[ding] The London Eye, yeah,
it’s called the London Eye
and that was a sight to experience.
It was just an overall
really memorable trip.
I just had a really fun time
bonding with my mom
and going on that experience.
And the final one that I had
was my grade 12 trip,
my class drama trip to New York.
[ding] That was ah –
that was a lot of fun.
It was my first trip I got to go
with a lot of friends.
♪ [Oh Party by Cash Callaway
and Ian Osborne]
A lot of wacky, crazy stories
that happened but I think
the most memorable stuff
about that was going to see
the musical ‘Hedwig’. And at the time,
Neil Patrick Harris was starring in it
and he was phenomenal,
did crazy wacky stuff,
like going into the audience
and kissing random people,
ugh! It was great.
I saw a little play called
‘The Realistic Mr. Joneses’.
That was like, the most
confusing play I’ve ever seen.
All my drama teachers were like,
‘Oh, this is so good!’
I’m just sitting there and I’m like,
‘I… don’t understand what’s happening.’
Yeah those are my [three dings]
three memorable moments about travelling!
I think travelling is probably
one of the most interesting
and awesome experiences
you get to have.
Just don’t eat the grubs in Ecuador.
Or you will vomit.
♪ [Amadeus – Jojo Worthington]
What places have you been?
And which ones
have been your favourites?
I just told you mine so
we’d love to hear some of yours.
Thank you! And bye.
