Title:
Let's not reinvent the wheel | Prof. Oded Shoseyov | TEDxJerusalem
Description:

Two hundreds of years of modern chemistry resulted in synthetic materials that do not even come close to the performance of some biomaterials developed over 30 billion years of evolution by nature. Combining the strength of Crystalline Nano Cellulose fibers from plants with the remarkable elasticity of Resilin protein produced by cat flees results in super performing materials that are likely to change the way we build our future products

Prof. Oded Shoseyov is a faculty member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research is in plant molecular biology protein engineering and nano-biotechnology. He has authored or co-authored more than 160 scientific publications and is the inventor or co-inventor of 45 patents. Prof. Shoseyov received the Outstanding Scientist Polak Award for 2002, the 1999 and 2010 Kay Award for Innovative and Applied Research and the 2012 Israel Prime Minister Citation for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is the scientific founder of 9 companies.
