Bono Tidal Bore: Unique Riau River Surfing

Surf in the Bono Tidal Bore in Sumatra! This recently discovered phenomenon can be found in the Pelalawan District in Riau, Sumatra. The locals used to be afraid of the Bono because it took many lives. But since September 2010, professional surfers from Brazil and France have been braving the waves and riding the surf. The Bono Tidal Bore surf is currently facilitated by the Riau River Defender, the Mitra Insani Foundation and Gurindam 12.
