Click Your Fortune #2: If you gave a TED Talk... - Alessandro Centrone

  • 0:06 - 0:08
In my case it's a little bit different
  • 0:08 - 0:12
because I think, probably, my parenting experience
  • 0:12 - 0:15
    associated with my work experience
  • 0:15 - 0:18
becomes probably one of the leading elements
  • 0:18 - 0:19
    of my life.
  • 0:19 - 0:23
Trying to balance a job that is very demanding
  • 0:23 - 0:25
    in terms of intensive traveling
  • 0:25 - 0:27
and having a family and a home
  • 0:27 - 0:29
    that is also very demanding
  • 0:29 - 0:30
    with some little comments
  • 0:30 - 0:33
    coming from a seven-year-old daughter
  • 0:33 - 0:36
are often something that makes me think
  • 0:36 - 0:39
if I'm always doing the right things,
  • 0:39 - 0:40
if I'm getting the right balance
  • 0:40 - 0:43
between the effort I'm putting in my job,
  • 0:43 - 0:44
    which I'm very passionate about,
  • 0:44 - 0:46
and a family that I love very much.
  • 0:46 - 0:48
But in the end, what is the right place
  • 0:48 - 0:51
and where am I making excuses
  • 0:51 - 0:54
to try to make the most out of the other side?
  • 0:54 - 0:56
So, it's always an interesting subject,
  • 0:56 - 0:59
    something that is very challenging.
  • 0:59 - 1:03
And every time I hear one of my fellows here
  • 1:03 - 1:04
    talking about the subject,
  • 1:04 - 1:05
    I'm very intrigued
  • 1:05 - 1:07
because I try to get ideas
  • 1:07 - 1:09
on how they are coping with a subject
  • 1:09 - 1:13
that is probably a big and important one
  • 1:13 - 1:14
    for many of us,
  • 1:14 - 1:17
especially as you move up in positions
  • 1:17 - 1:19
that give you a lot of responsibilities,
  • 1:19 - 1:20
    but with responsibilities,
  • 1:20 - 1:21
    you also get this,
  • 1:21 - 1:23
    let's say, downside.
  • 1:24 - 1:25
