In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (Subject to certain rules and regulations).

Associate Professor of Criminal Law at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, where she graduated in Law in 1993, with a thesis entitled “Alternatives to the criminal trial: making peace”.

Since then, she has dedicated much of her research and her time as a volunteer working in the criminal sector to the discovery of new forms of justice: where “justice” no longer means responding to the harm caused by crime with the harm caused by punishment – a punishment that is, moreover, often pointless and counterproductive -, but encouraging restorative commitments for the future and the reestablishment of ties between offenders and the rest of society.

Based at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, where she teaches criminal justice and juvenile law, she is a member of the Scientific Committee set up by the Catholic University’s “Federico Stella” Research Centre to conduct research into Criminal Justice and Criminal Policies.
