Click Your Fortune #3: Imagined careers - Daniel Suarez
-
0:05 - 0:08Ah, thankfully novelist was my number one,
-
0:08 - 0:11took a while though.
-
0:11 - 0:14Again, I worked for a couple decades nearly,
-
0:14 - 0:17and at some point it really wasn't my goal
-
0:17 - 0:18to become a novelist anymore.
-
0:18 - 0:21I loved my work at the time developing software
-
0:21 - 0:23and then I went back to it.
-
0:23 - 0:25So, I think the thing I'd say to people is
-
0:25 - 0:27sometimes it's a very circuitous path.
-
0:27 - 0:29I mean, I wouldn't change it in hindsight
-
0:29 - 0:30how it happened.
-
0:30 - 0:33I mean, I finally got to my dream profession,
-
0:33 - 0:35but the journey was enjoyable too,
-
0:35 - 0:38and that's what I would say.
-
0:38 - 0:41It was definitely novelist,
-
0:41 - 0:42I think really only that.
