Click Your Fortune #2: Inspiration - Adital Ela

  • 0:04 - 0:07
It was after ten days of walking in nature
  • 0:07 - 0:10
in silence on a meditation retreat
  • 0:10 - 0:12
    and stepping into an area
  • 0:12 - 0:17
that was so pure and tender
  • 0:17 - 0:20
that it really felt like no person stepped there
  • 0:20 - 0:23
for a very long time or even forever.
  • 0:23 - 0:27
    And when I stepped there,
  • 0:27 - 0:30
the first thought that came to my mind
  • 0:30 - 0:35
was questioning whether I have a right to be there,
  • 0:35 - 0:38
stepping in a place full of living organisms
  • 0:38 - 0:42
thriving there without any human interference.
  • 0:42 - 0:44
And then the next thought was,
  • 0:44 - 0:46
"What if I was a cow?"
  • 0:46 - 0:48
You know, then it would be very natural
  • 0:48 - 0:49
    for me to walk there.
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    These very different questions
  • 0:51 - 0:56
and these very different ways of looking at myself
  • 0:56 - 0:59
walking in the world in a very certain moment
  • 0:59 - 1:02
really made me question the whole assumptions
  • 1:02 - 1:06
of how we, people, walk on Earth
  • 1:06 - 1:07
    and work on Earth
  • 1:07 - 1:09
    and thrive on Earth.
  • 1:09 - 1:11
And is there really such a big difference
  • 1:11 - 1:15
between the way we view animals
  • 1:15 - 1:17
and the way we walk ourselves?
  • 1:17 - 1:21
    And maybe this inspiration
  • 1:21 - 1:24
to how we as designers, as creative people,
  • 1:24 - 1:26
as people that are willing to question
  • 1:26 - 1:27
    everything around us
  • 1:27 - 1:29
    and find new ways,
  • 1:29 - 1:33
is very much about agreeing to walk like cows
  • 1:33 - 1:36
and agreeing to be part of this wealth
  • 1:36 - 1:38
    of living organisms.
  • 1:38 - 1:40
