Serge is going to be our first presenter, He's going to talk about a plugin he wrote called Latch. Serge, come over here.

>> Serge Thompson: I hope everyone's doing well tonight.

As Steve said I'm from Latch,

and what i've developed is a a mobile
application

our goal is to get rid of usernames
and passwords and

we've built a plugin for word press that
allows you to

login with your phone

and uh... and you can uh

post to vet website or the blog that
you've logged on to.

So uh... you're lucky today the demo is
very quick

uh... but that's kind of the power of
that

and where the use comes in.

i'll just show you, this is our website,
and the application will be released soon

to the app store. You can get updates via
email address if you put it in

here.

I'll just scroll down.

This gives a very brief overview but
I'll click the demo right here.

so this isa typical social
login

uh... structure plugin

with our latch application uh... login
procedure, so all you do if you want to

log into the site, and uh... add anything
to the blog,

is you would tap on this L right here,

on the lower left there,

and then

it contacts

the Latch

uh... ID provider.

And uh... I can

walk way over here but it's easier to
kind of scan fromright here, but

you take out your mobile application

and

the latch application,

and you open the app,

and you simply point it at the QR code,

and i'll do that here.

It's a little bit easier here.

And it scans it,

and then logs you in instantly s0
don't have to...

Where this is really useful is

if you want to create a account on the
site you don't have to 'create account'.

You download the application and then

you uh... go to the sites, you see this
Latch

icon and you login, and you can
instantly share on that site, create an

account and

and um, kind of move forward from there. So i can
show you that you're logged in

uh...

on the upper right it says 'Howdy the latch user'
there

and

you can then go to like the news,

uh...

and you can leave a comment,

and your login as this user uh... you
leave the comment

and um... can

proceed from there.

So, I think it's a good way of

really

uh... getting rid of usernames and
passwords, and it's useful for the

WordPress area right now.

Um,

but i really wan to make into a bigger
thing, so

it's based on the same structure

as uh... like facebook login and, and
google login and, and,

Twitter login.

So it's all the same infrastructure,

and yet it's applied to WordPress in this
situation.

So a quick demo, but you can see it's a
very easy way of logging in

uh... you can forget about usernames and
password, ,making new accounts and things,

and you will get to augment

uh... security features. I mean down the line
what we want to implement is facial recognition,

voice recognition,

Things.

uh...

When you want to improve security in
different areas

So this is what we have right now. This is where we are
starting and uh... pretty excited to you get

this plugin out . It;s on the site um...

and then, yeah, if you wanna find out more
about the application,

uh... just throw youe email in and we'll
you know and uh...
