I prepared a speech, but I decided, just a few minutes ago, that I won't use it, since most of the speakers had talked about dreams and how people can accomplish their dreams. Today, I will tell you a true story. I'm not a motivational speaker, I'm one of you. I'm just 24, and I'm now working at the Qatar Science and Technology Park. While working there, we started to do a project called Loghati. It's a language platform, where you could upload any information, in any different language, and then it could be accessible to any language you prefer. Last year, I went to Italy on a trip to search for content for Loghati. I was hosted by a university in Naples, therefore, the university lie entirely in Naples. When I visit that university, I've seen students from all over Italy coming to that university, to learn the Arabic language. A classroom where 4x4 meters had nearly 50 students inside the classroom. They were all sitting on floors and tables, and even some of them are standing outside the classroom, trying to learn the language, while we are here in Qatar learning and speaking in different languages, thinking that this would be the first way to development. However, the dean of the University took me to a room. There was a small library there. And when she opened the door there, I was exposed to nearly more than 500 books that were written by our own Arab scholars. One of them is the original copy of Ibn Sina's book. So, she told me that they had these books for quite a while, and it's a treasure for them. Although, in my own mind, I was thinking it's our own treasure, how did it reach there? And they were thinking, "How could we put this in a place, where everyone could access it, and could benefit from this treasure? It's our own treasure, it's our Islamic culture there. So, I came back to QSTP here, and we thought, "How could we do that, how could make that work?" And we discovered that this language platform will never work without the engagement of all of you with it. I'm here today, telling you that dreams are the first steps of our futures. We have to dream big, but we also have to start working. So, if you want to reach to something, dream big, this is what your future would be, but then start working today. I'm here to ask every single person of you to engage in this language platform, and this multicultural community that we're trying to build. So, that whatever position you want to be in the future, whether it be a doctor, whether it be an engineer, where it be whatever comes to your mind, we have to work together to break those language barriers that are here today. Basically, what we're talking about -- while doing the research we discovered that statistics say that today there are 7,000 accredited languages in the world, 90% of those 7,000 languages are threatened by extinction. Let us think for a moment: Where would our language be in those figures? To help you think, just think today what's your native language, and what language do you speak now? What language are you studying with? What language do you think that you would be using in the future? Do you want your language to be one of those 90%, one of those languages within the 90% range of extinction? So, let's start today. I'm encouraging everyone of you to work with us, to build this multicultural community, where we could all speak in our own language, but then our language won't be just ours, everyone could understand. Let me give you a small example of how this project works. So, let's say you have a book in Chinese. You uploaded that book into the platform. It would immediately translate this book to any language you prefer. But then the transition won't be 100% accurate. So, with your engagement, we could feed this system, and with time we would get the translation that we want. So, I won't extend this speech more, I'm just telling you that if we want to reach something in the future, we have to start today, we have to engage. The future doesn't encourage us to dismiss our own native language, instead, it asks us to promote ourself, to use ourself and protect our own identity, to build a better future, a multicultural community, where we could all understand each other, and all communicate with each other. We have to reach to that point, but we will never do that without the engagement of each and every one of you. Thank you. (Applause)
